This little girl just arrived this morning. She was found lying by the side of a road notorious for being a dumping ground for dogs and cats. Although cars were speeding by her- one did stop and picked her up and brought her home. My feline specialist contacted me about her and asked if I could take her and I went to pick her up this morning. She was found Saturday morning. I took her to the vet and when we took her out of the carrier for the first time- I almost wept. She is bone skinny. She was loaded with fleas and parasites and she doesn’t have a manx tail, but she doesn’t have a full-length tail either. I did take some photos of her- but tomorrow morning Midge will be over to take good photos and I will post them then.
She is a cow kitty about 4 years old but she almost has calico in her- really pretty girl. She is quite sick- although she came out of the tests okay- all of her lymph nodes are swollen over what they should be and part of her tummy protrudes more than the other side (possible FIP) I have been ordered to give her groceries, TLC and monitor her for two weeks to see if the lymph nodes go down. If they do great- if not, she has to go back for bloodwork. I know the vet is thinking the “C” word. She also may have asthma as her breathing is labored but her heart sounds good. So we don’t know exactly what is wrong with her but time is on our side.
Also wanted to share this with you all (not my finest moment). I recently ordered from Chewy.com and got my order just fine- but in the time that it was made and shipped, I was getting countless emails from them daily. It was ridiculous. Two days ago, I finally decided I had enough and I emailed them a very nasty email. Not like me at all. I instantly got a reply from a very sweet customer service agent and the emails stopped.
Thinking about it later, I realized that I had used Chewy.com as a catalyst for all my grief and frustration: Mike’s leg, Cooper losing his, my mother being so close to death. losing Mercedes- all of it and I was so ashamed of myself. I emailed the woman back and apologized and told her why I believe I blew up so unprofessionally. She sent me back a very empathetic email and said she understood why it happened. She said someone at Chewy.com is available 24/7 if I just needed to talk to someone.
A few minutes ago, the doorbell rings and as I opened the door, I am just praying that it isn’t someone with a cat. It wasn’t it was Fed Ex with a bouquet of flowers and a note for me from Chewy.com!
Wow, I’m impressed with Chewy. You don’t see that very often. It’s good that you emailed them back. You would have continued to feel bad, otherwise. I always feel relieved when I apologise for something I shouldn’t have done – but I don’t do it often enough.
And that little cat brought to you seems to have arrived just in time. What a mess. Let’s hope it’s all superficial – or at least easily cured. She’s come to the right place, anyway.
ok I am impressed with chewy and looking at the site, I see a lot of the treats that my dogs love, they get the wellness and blue buffalo. I will order from them and will mention you when I do. So glad you got that kitty in time. I am partial to black kitties and cow kitties are also my favorites. my black cat is on my desk right now with he tail wrapped around my arm as I type. silly boy.
Chewy is actually a very nice company – yours is not the first nice story I’ve heard about them.
I deal with Chewy a LOT. Excellent customer service. Excellent. You just can’t go wrong with them.
