With Paris right before she died, she suffered neurological damage. She couldn’t seem to figure out how to move forward on the floor and would instead try and squat then move backward until she reached a wall or other obstacle. Then she would sit there before she threw up. 🙁

  1. Wow! It could be anything! I’m sorry to hear about Paris. Praying it will cease and desist for you! Is there something airborne that can affect all these fur babies. Is there anything that can be done to prevent it from making the rounds? I feel so bad for you. You however, are doing all you can. These babies have had you to love and nurture them. I continue to have you in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. When it comes to this disease, I am thinking they aren’t sure of anything. And that’s not slamming the vet field. It’s just there are so many diseases in the cat world, the medicine can’t keep up.

  3. I think I have half those symptoms myself — just kidding.

Are most of your cats immunized against the disease? I assume you’re isolating and using sterile techniques as much as possible to avoid cross-contamination. And I know your heart is breaking over the losses, because mine would, too.

  4. The ones at risk are the babies who are to young to be vaccinated, or who are sick and they can’t be vaccinated. My sterile room isn’t sterile anymore- or that is the way I am handling it because some of the kittens who are dead were no where near that room. So, I am taking a break now. No adoptions, no rescues for a very long time. I have been doing this almost a lifetime now and this current heartache is more than I can bear. So for now- I have shut down all operations and will just continue to go day-by-day and pray that no other kitties will succumb.

  5. I love you for so many reasons, but most of all because you have dedicated yourself to this work. My thoughts are often with you…

  6. Hope and prayers for the kitties and your family. This disease is terrible. Please remember all of the goodness and love that you have given to all of your babies over the years. This happening is one of those unfair and tragic things that it seems to have no sense and you wonder and ask why? Sometimes there is no answer but keep faith and hope alive. Without your help, all of the babies that you have written about in this blog would have not know your warmth, love and help.

  7. Just checking in to see how you are doing and how other kitties are doing. You are in my prayers and in my thoughts.
