Here are Willow, Sullivan and Toad. They are now out and about in general population and no one seems to be having a problem with any of them. They prefer to stay on the back porch until nightfall then they come into the house and leap on my face when I am reading or sleeping. My husband likes Sullivan and I have flipped for Toad. He is a long hair and reminds me of our dear Kabota kitty of years past-
What a pile of kitty cuteness!!
What a beautiful pile of tabby goodness!
I have a question I am hoping you can help me with. I have had a feral cat living in my garage for months now. When I noticed her in February I started feeding her. She had a litter of kittens at the end of June (I think) she hid them very well. I had been feeding them including the 4 new ones just started on the soften kitten chow-was going to see about trapping them this weekend to give the kittens to nice homes-and to have her spayed, but suddenly she left the garage with all the kittens. This is very unusal since she has been there every day for months-and now suddenly has taken these young kittens out of a safe warm place. Any ideas on why she did this- or how to get them back? Hate the thought of them out in the weather.
A queen will move her kittens if there is any kind of a perceived threat. This could have been from you or someone else meeting her eyes directly, scaring her without knowing it, or perhaps something outside spooked her to move them.
All you can do is continue to feed in the same places at the same time every day. Provide dry food and water and see if she reappears. If you stay to a schedule, she may show up ahead of time waiting for you. Then if you can, sit nearby while she eats then leave. Let her get comfortable with your presence without even looking in her direction. Once she relaxes, she will bring the kittens back to you and you can go from there. Chances are good, she is pregnant again though- so you need to trap her and get her spayed quickly-
