I just received a head’s up from a friend who works in a grocery store. Their store is going to be putting up for sale this weekend only- canned cat food- various brands. Although I fully appreciate the tip, there is only $6.00 left in CATS right now. We are completely out of vet debt for the year! YAY! But we also are now down to only 12 cans of cat food. Our weather, much like the nation has been unbearably cold- down into the 20’s and even the teens one night! I have amped up the feeding of the sanctuary cats, especially because right now, their heat sources aren’t as plentiful as they are used to. All the electrical in the carport has been deadened due to a leak. So I keep the rescues warm by giving them wet food\.
Most of you, I am sure are pinching pennies these days. But if you can spare a few dollars during this busy time of year. Our kitties would surely lap it up!
I’m sorry I can’t send you anything this time. I feel very bad about it, but with Tucker’s recent vet visit and other things, the money meter is low here. Remember the days when at least the middle class had some money?…
I can send a small amount. Every little bit helps. Onto Paypal…

Thank you all of you. I was able to secure a small store of canned food that will hopefully bring the cats through the rest of this year. With so much going on in their lives, the one constant that we can provide for them is food. This week is going to be incredibly tough for them because the men are starting to insulate the underfloor and block off access to the house. Not all holes are blocked yet, and I am trying to tempt the cats into the main enclosure or Mike’s old shop. There are four stubborn rebels that refuse to move from the place they are accustomed to- but the largest entrance to the crawlspace will be gated should someone hide effectively enough to not be scared off from all the activity.
I cried when they pulled my main tunnels, but I understand their reasons behind the madness. Those tunnels created quite a draft of cold air into the house, even when the doors were tightly closed. Since this is a government issue program. The only room I could really save was the cat room at the front of the patio. They did have to put in a solid door (I had a wired door on it so I could see the cats at any given time. Once this is done, this will be the only access into the home that the cats will have. I had to fight like crazy to keep it intact. But I won the war. or rather the cats did. That’s who I was fighting for the most. When it gets cold in the “mud room” at least, I can provide enough heat to keep everyone in there warm.
Once everything is finished and in place, once the construction men are gone, you’ll be able to see what’s what and where, and figure something out. The cats will figure it out, too.
