Here are updated photos of Pocket and Bindle. They are doing great eating, drinking, playing and getting scads of attention-
Last night we had a experience I hope is never repeated. A severely disturbed young man was out in front of our home yelling at the highway and the cars and threatening suicide. I called 911 while it was all going down. The dispatcher made me stay on the phone with the doors and windows locked until the police arrived. I so glad that Kota was with me- he may be young and we haven’t had him a long time, but I think he would protect us if something had happened. He also has a very formidable bark! They finally located the young man about midnight. I hope he gets some much-needed help. I felt sorry for him, but I also felt threatened by him. Several times, he started coming down our driveway but something always turned him back around to rage at the road. It was pretty intense, the cops had their machine guns out and they were looking high and low for this guy.
I am so sorry for your frightening experience.
The story of the chemical kitties is one that should be told to potential donors. Those kittens had no chance if it were not for you.
Geez, there is no end to the excitement at your place. Too much, I’m sure you’ll agree. You could use a nice, peaceful week.
Fortunately, the kittens are providing a little joy and relief. You performed your usual wonders with them. They look alert and healthy – ready for life!
I have to give a lot of credit to Dr. Vicki Thayer Feline Specialist. She puts up with an incredible amount of annoying questions from me when I have some difficult cases here. She lives a stone’s throw away and I know that she will always take the time to see the bad ones and guide me as to what to do. I’ve learned an incredible amount from her and will always be grateful our paths have crossed. She does most of it without charging us a dime. She was instrumental in helping me secure the meds needed to get these babies up and running. Without her help, the outcome for these five could have been very different! If you want to help out Vicki in any way on – you can always donate to the Winn Feline Foundation on our behalf. When my mom passed, I gave them a chunk of change stipulating that it go for stray and feral cat research ONLY. Hopefully what we gave will make a difference one day in the lives of the many strays and ferals around the country.
