He is named this because rescuing him turned into a real circus. But the most important factor of the day from Hell (for me) is he is now been to the vet, his injuries have been addressed and he is safe, warm, out of the elements and none too soon because it is going to snow in 24 hours.
This kitty has a punctured paw, his hip is wonky (possibly old injury from being hit by a car) and we are praying very hard that his ear problems are frostbite and not squamous cell carcinoma which it could also be because he has been out in the full elements his entire life. We will know within two weeks if the vitamin E lotion doesn’t change the look of those ears- then they will do a biopsy and see if it is cancer and do they have to remove the ear flaps.
He was so scared once he was finally captured, but he is friendly he is not feral and he shook the entire vet visit. Poor baby. He is sharing the enclosure with Jet-Eye but he is a separate area and right now, he is hiding inside of heated cat house. He is just a year old! He was living in deplorable and dangerous conditions and trying to help him I had to depend on my knowledge of the law regarding stray cats.
Here he is at the vet, where they found a punctured paw due to a thorn- a painful hip and the questionable condition of his ears.
Both his ears show the deterioration of the skin and tissue- 🙁
Dawn if you happen to cruise in and read this- THANK YOU for calling me about him and being so concerned (as I was) about his questionable living conditions and his injuries.
I will sleep so much better knowing he is safe.. thank you very much for what you do.. I also have a great friend that might want to adopt him.. of course if all works out… can’t wait to see him next week..
Thank goodness! Toby must be sleeping the sleep of the exhausted right now – but also his first secure and untroubled sleep, possibly ever.
And how many people would get the Toby Tyler reference? I love his name.
