I think Stryker is highly constipated. I just finished force-feeding him canned organic pumpkin mixed with turkey baby food- YUMMY! He didn’t think so- most of it went on the bed instead of in his mouth- but I think I got enough in to matter. I just want one day to pass where I don’t have to add stress into his life.
I was afraid it would come to that. Once he starts taking in food, it may induce him to eat on his own. He has to remember that there are some things worth living for. Right now, he may not think so.
Anyway to get some fluids into him? Sometimes my vet would give just a shot of lactated ringers under the skin between the shoulder blades (quicker than having to have them sit still while doing an IV).
I didn’t mention it, but yes, he has had almost 120 cc or fluids since coming here. I try when I am working with him and doing the “bad things” to always turn on the light as a warning to him. If I go in and keep the light off, he will come out to me. I could have mentioned this already, but I slept with him last night and he lay with me wrapped around my head. He is a really a beautiful fella-
