The new tuxedo boy came up to me this morning and I noticed his walk was off. His back left hip looked swollen and for one moment I thought he had been hit by a car. But he has not been out of his enclosure since arriving here.
I haven’t had much time to bond with him, but when I tried to pick him up, my hand slipped inside something goopy and warm. I know what that means. I got all my med supplies and went back and he allowed me to clip, shave and drain this huge wound on his hip. In the center of the wound is a tooth mark- so he was attacked sometime ago and the wound is just now opened. It has been cleaned, he has been given meds and I stayed out of the vet’s office! YAY! LOL
It’s amazing to me that these cats can trust us after being on their own for so long. Not even my own kitties like to be shaved, but he didn’t protest at all and when we were done, he licked my hand.
Many of these cats must be almost desparate for love and affection. They know the touch of someone who cares, even if they haven’t experienced it for ever.
It’s so wonderful that there are people like you.
LOVE & PEACE
awwww so sweet, he will be a great love to whom ever wins his favor!
