These babies lost their mom the other night when mom got hit on the road. According to the woman, the mom made it back to her babies and died that night while the babies were nursing. I got the call on them this morning and went to pick them up. Not shown in the photo are two black kitties and you can see the tortie but she was so hungry she thought the camera was food and kept biting my fingers! They were of course crawling with fleas so they have been bathed and flea treated. Get the coffee going- every four hour feedings will now commence!

That’s heart-breaking. The mother-cat had to get back to her babies. What a good mum she was.
OMG that is so sad, but at least she made it home to her babies before she passed so the “owner” would know what happened to her and not just think she was off doing her business and would be back.
Unfortunately she wasn’t a owned cat, not by this woman at least. Just one of the strays the woman has been feeding for the last few weeks. They were so flea-ridden it is a wonder they are still alive. The littlest one, and orange boy I have named Linus- bites HARD! He has nailed me 7 times already! LOL
