Thankfully, it turned out to be a good thing. The woman was looking for her lost cat (a black one) She thought he might be in the masses and was leaving food outside the fence to see if the black cats would come and eat the food so she could see them up close to see if Blackie was among them.
I stopped by again a bit later in the day to talk to Chris and this elderly woman was at the fence. We went over to talk to her and she was describing her cat. When she said he had tufts of hair in between the pads of his feet and in his ears- I thought about Magic. He has the same thing. I went and fetched him and yes, it is her cat and they have been reunited! He has been missing since I first spotted this storage yard and he wasn’t neutered at the time. He is now! He went right to her and curled up in her lap- Show me smiling right now!
Wow, what great news! Paws up!
Working in mysterious, wonderful ways…
Wow, what a happy ending! Good for Magic and for his human and for you! And since this lady was trying something that was a great deal of trouble, and late at night, it suggests she was willing to do a lot to find hurt missing cat. Excellent!
Is Magic the kitty who recently had his leg amputated and was living with Stephanie?
No the Magic who went to live with Stephanie was not the same kitty. Same name but different cat. I run out of names after awhile and reuse names that I like. I need to come up with new names but sometimes, some of the names already used just fit other cats. Drives my vet a bit crazy but the girls just add a number 1,2, or 3 behind the name or change the spelling. When they do mention it, I remind them that I still get these notices in the mail telling me that “barn cats” is due for another vaccination or worming. Whoever barn cats might be! When I take these cats in, I don’t always have a name for them so they fall under the category of Barn Cats- which drives me crazy trying to figure out which cat they are talking about.
