Last night at the midnight feeding, I noticed that Honeybunny was losing strength. She will usually squall her head off when she is being stimulated (as both preemies are quite gassy and painful) I did add some Metamucil to their formula which seems to help, but she would also be quite playful when feeding and last night, she was just limp.
I had some exotic coffee left over from the day and I went in and warmed it up. I started giving her just drops at a time of this lukewarm beverage. Then I bundled her up and put her back in her nest, said a prayer and went to bed. I didn’t expect her to make it to the next feeding at 2:00 a.m.
She was a bouncing ball of energy at the next feeding and I couldn’t have been happier listening to her complain when I stimulated her. She pooped in grand style and is still with us as of 9:00 this morning. Thank you God for keeping her here on earth for at least another day.
God made coffee, too, and I wonder how many times He has inspired people to use His creations in inventive ways…
Do you ever use goats milk with new kittens?
Janice you must have read my mind, I just got back from the store to purchase both goat’s milk and the ingredients for kitten glop
I know our vet doesn’t like to change mid stream because they tend to get tummy upsets and the runs but it works wonders.
