Sending out an S.O.S.

Took Baker and the two calico girls in tonight for a check. The girls passed the ringworm test and are now in their new wonderful home with Glacie and Baker, sadly will be put to sleep this Friday. His mouth is totally destroyed.  Then during this vet visit, I was told some news in regards to the clinic. The tried and true senior vet  is finally retiring.  The bad news is they want all accounts receivable to be paid in full ASAP.

I am asking with great humbleness for your help. Could you spread the word using all you know about social media. The total bill is $1,700.00 please let people know anything sent is tax deductible.

If you can help in a small way, the small ways add up quickly, We will take your mad money, your rainy day, “I want coffee money,” your aluminum can money. It doesn’t matter. I do not wish to lose the good standing our sanctuary has with this clinic.

In the past the bookkeeper worked with me on small payments. I have a feeling she isn’t going to part of this changeover. We just need help and quickly. If I can just make a dent in this it will truly help all the cats out there still waiting for our help.

I figured it out, if we can raise $125.00 a day then I can meet their 2 week deadline. I have to wonder though if Someone upstairs might just be trying to tell me something? The timing on this couldn’t be at a worse time.

Thank you deeply to anyone who can help us get clear of this.

  1. I would be happy to send you a check, as I do not donate electronically; however, I could not locate your mailing address.

  2. Donated, hope you get what you need. It was good seeing you yesterday. Hope that PT will resolve your health issue, and soon.

It was so wonderful to see you yesterday! The positive changes in you are so amazing! I seriously would have walked right by you on the street and not recognized you. I’m sorry we couldn’t visit but thank you for the cat carriers and syringes, feeding tubes et al. I haven’t yet gone through that one box with all the interesting things the cats are sniffing this morning. My bet you heavily laced it with catnip! LOL

Take care of yourself and thanks again

  4. Yes, tough day ahead for me- a better life for Baker awaits. Even if I did go through with the required dental work which is extensive, it gains Baker maybe two years. But the pain and stress during and after the procedure is not worth putting Baker through because of my desire to keep Baker here. Baker will always be with me- all these departed ones stay with me deep in my heart and imbedded in my memories.

Not to pull old skeletons out of the closet here but when I was smaller, I had this wonderful cocker spaniel we called Sambo (I didn’t realize back then that was not a political correct name for a black spaniel). He was my buddy and we bonded tighter than superglue. He was epileptic, and I would sit with him as he went through his seizures because the medicine wasn’t all the effective. But we loved each other. My father had an affair back then and my mom kicked him out. One day my dad called me and asked me for Sam because he was so lonely.

I looked at this beautiful dog I loved so much, and the Daddy I loved twice as bad and decided to give Sam to him. I would come to regret that decision not only for the anger it caused my mom toward me, but because my father’s inability to let Sam go as years passed. When Sam died, he was totally blind, deaf and the final seizure just did him in – all because my father loved him so much and didn’t want to left alone. I think that shaped me into what I am today. I do not like it when animals suffer and if I can stop that suffering and take a deep breath and go on- that’s what I do. I did for so many before and I will do it for as many as needed after.

My friend Haley told me last night that I am the strongest person she knows and she added “And I know a lot of people!” LOL I never feel strong- 90% of the time I feel like a total wimp.

  5. Baker is in the wind………

John Bellen said it best: “Godspeed Baker” You are the brightest star in the sky tonight. I will really miss you my friend.
