Lexi, Percy, Lego, Nutmeg, Pigeon, Lunar and Ledi all went to the shelter today. For some reason Abitha’s home wasn’t approved so she is still there. But she can go in with her brothers and sisters and maybe get adopted to the right home.
So now, there are only 6 kittens left in the bedroom and tonight a really nice couple came by and pre-adopted the two calico girls! I have a family coming tomorrow to look at the orange girls (Pumpkin and Autumn and another gal interested in Glacie. So we will see how it all goes.
I have a huge bruise on my shoulder and arm. I stopped at a restaurant to use their bathroom, and I was at the sink. I took off my jacket and was looking at the bruise on my arm and this elderly woman walked in the door. She gasped when she saw this bruise then she smiled at me and went in a stall. I was still there when she came out and as she washing her hands, I was trying to slip into my coat. She gently grabbed my good arm and said “Honey, can I give you some advice?” I told her “Sure, go ahead.”
She looked me square in the face and said: “You need to leave that bastard!” LOL
I told her it was a car wreck and not an abusive mate and thanked her for the concern.
OMC! And I bet she didn’t believe you either.
Hi there. Not sure if you remember me. You and your hubby drove up to Portland to pick up a black kitten from me about 7 years or so ago. Nice to see you are still doing this 🙂
She kind of smiled at me with a bit of sadness, so I don’t think she believed me. My first marriage of ten years was with an abusive man. He was an alcoholic. No man will ever do that to me again without consequences. As for Michael the only thing he has ever raised against me was his voice. I think we have had 3 fights in almost thirty years.
Talked to Mike yesterday, he is doing really good. They’ve had him in PT already learning to walk again. He did not get a full leg cast as they originally told me they were going to do. They decided the risk of another ulcer developing from the friction of the rubbing of the cast against the incision site was to risky. They did cast around the remaining leg though to keep the padding snug and dry. He said the first time he got out of bed with the walker he almost fell over on his keester. So there will be adjustments we will have to make along the way.
Bonnie,
I do remember you! Thank you for stopping by. Yes, I am still rescuing. It’s my ministry, it’s in my blood.
I’m pleased that the shelter is the sort that checks into a cat’s prospective home. Better that Abitha wait for the right one than go to the first one.
