Someone who is educated on the pros and cons of scooping litterpans has graduated to the top of the heap in creating SmartCat all Natural Cat Litter. The claims on the bag stand true:
It outclumps clay litter every day (even though there is NO clay involved in the making of this litter)
No Smell Can’t tell (once the kitty uses the litter there is no noxious smell left behind that perfumed litter is notorious for)
Breathe Clean 99% DustFree I was able to set aside my face mask when handling this litter; pouring, scooping, even opening the bag. There is no dust (and no track!)
Chemical Free, Clay Free, Fragrance Free Absolutely true- this wonderful litter is made from U.S. farm grasses. Unlike some of the clay free litters on the market today- Smart Cat All Natural Cat Litter maintains the same consistency as other clay or sand litter so there is no need to growl or grumble when the litter doesn’t scoop right. The litter appears to be kinder to paws and safe for being the first litter to introduce a kitten to. They taste-test everything.
Although the instructions say to mix Smart Cat with existing litters, I found that not to be necessary. ALL the sanctuary cats used it right away over the other brands they are used to.

SmartCat All Natural Cat Litter makes scooping litterpans easier and faster.
I swear by it, having 3 cats and sinus issues, my husband could clean the boxes at the other end of the house and the dust would travel to me and I would sneeze like crazy and the smell OMG really bad. we switched to Worlds Best and now there is no dust, no smell and no sneezing. also it does not stick to the litter box making cleaning easier and I don’t have to throw away the boxes after 6 months.
I will have to compare the price to what I pay now, and see how much it costs to ship – we don’t have that brand in my town. It’s a good recommendation, though.
I desperately need to figure out a solution in regards to litter. I was using World’s Best and loved the no dust but one of my cats, Ms. Chunky Lisa, decided she did NOT like it and started peeing outside the box. I had puppy pads all over the tv room. Brought her to the vets and they found no issues so I decided to get new litter. Couldn’t go back to the heavy stuff so I tried Tidy Cat lightweight. Miracle of miracles, Chunky Lisa found it to her liking and has been using the litterbox ever since. Only problem, it is the most dusty litter I have ever used and now another cat, Sweet Pea, has been wheezing and reverse sneezing the past five days and I’m wondering if it is the litter. I may have to give this a try…
Christine- each cat should have two litterpan and you should have one extra besides if you have multiple cats. I know this equation sounds crazy, but if you watch cats in the wild, they will poop in one area then move off and pee in another. This is instinctive- you can’t retrain instinct easily. Even domesticated cats will follow this urge and that may be why the accidents are happening. Add another box and see if that doesn’t help. Another reason for out of the box pooping is stress. One of my cat’s, every time I change out my bedding in the bedroom, she will poop out of the box. put the old bedding back on- the pooping goes back in the box. Took me years to figure that one out as she is on the un-adoptable list for just this reason. Different cats, different circumstances cause stress. It may not be litter avoidance, it could just be something triggering her.
