The vet called late and said that Jedi is better except for the diarrhea. He said he would bet she doesn’t have distemper and the results from the fecal isn’t in yet. He asked me if I just wanted to come and get her. YES!
She was caked with diarrhea (poor girl) but so happy to be home. We had a very careful bath to give her and she is in her cage and eating and drinking and crying because she wants us to hold her. We have to wrap her up like a burrito (just like Chauncey) but right now, she is asleep in Pop’s arms. Maybe tomorrow the resuts will be in? Is this a good sign that nothing obvious has popped out yet? I do not know-
Why didn’t the animal hospital clean her off? In any case, I’m glad that she is home and she feels safe. Continued good luck to her.
Purrrrrrrrsss to Jedi Knight. WE suspect she is as happy to be home as you are that she is.
They cleaned her rump, just not her tail or back of her legs. I know she is really sensitive back there right now and she will bite you if you even just touch her tail. I had to 86 all the cat litter in her litterpans and go to shredded paper. She is leaking poo all the time and has resorted to just lying in the litterpans. At least paper won’t be as harsh to her torn up rectum as litter was turning out to be. I still want to know what the devil this is? I have yet another kitten showing signs of this illness. Chauncy has recovered and we are just working on keeping her red butt covered in ointment. But now Axle a 7 year old has the same symptoms?
Modern medicine has several anti-diarrhea for humans, haven’t they come up with any for cats??? Like immodium (sp?) or Compazine? Don’t suppose Jedi would tolerate a sitz bath? (Just sitting in flowing warm water) Helps me after a bout of diarrhea… just soothes the rectal area… Could this be caused by a parasite? I’m just so worried about all your cats picking it up…
Glad she is home and safe, poopy behind and all. When will the Vet have a definitive answer to the crazy, horrible ‘thing’ lurking at your place?
