Axle is my 6 year old tuxedo kitty. He got out last week and came home this morning. He looks “okay” but he is constantly meowing and seems sore on his back end. I have checked him up and down and sideways for bite wounds or abrasions, I see nothing. He isn’t running a fever, he is eating and drinking. I checked his back claws to see if they were worn down or broken (which would indicate he got struck by a car) Again nothing, all his claws are accounted for. When I picked him up, he hissed at me so I know something is wrong. I have him in the observation cage and will watch him a few days. I suspect a neighbor did him some damage, but what kind of damage is unclear. I will talk to my vet tomorrow about him- but with a full load of spays and neuters on the books this week, taking him in isn’t possible. I will only do that if he gets worse. At least, in the cage, he has stopped crying.
