Her head popped out of her hiding place in response to the sound of the cat food can being popped open. I looked over at Gretyl and smiled. This is the first time since she arrived here that she has ventured out of her man-made cave.
She looked around, perhaps wondering if there were threats of predators in the room, but all she could see- her feline friends and myself reassured her and she came out from behind the blankets and walked over to me.
I rubbed her chocolate head and belly and dished out her portion of food. She bent down and started to eat. Even when I stood up to leave the room she was still eating. A small baby step, but one I will definitely take!
There’s nothing quite like the feeling that comes with seeing trust being established, eh? Slowly but surely…
we know how that goes and each little step makes your heart melt just a little .. we have a few shy babies or un-friendlies .. we will be updating about them soon – glad you are making progress, glad we are too 🙂
