I have turned this house on its ear looking for this kitten. I have flipped over all our furniture looking for holes or possible places where he could go to hide. I have cleaned out closets, searched the attic, dumped out kitchen cabinets, re-organized the pantry and searched high and low. I have looked in places I know cats can’t really fit and he isn’t anywhere to be found.
In all the years of rescue, I have never lost a cat indoors. The fact that he might be in the house trapped somewhere and unable to call out is so disturbing to me. I have lost cats to the outside but never has it seemed like the house has swallowed him whole! We have no vents he could crawl into or through, and my hope is he found some way to get outside and is under the house. I’ve made a grid map of my home and rooms and laid down on the floor in each room looking for hide-outs and still nothing. Yesterday, I found in one of the kitchen cabinets and access to the outside that I never knew existed but the cabinet is little used and how he could have gotten in there in the first place would be a mystery.
How strange. We sure hope you find Hook very soon. That is scary. The grid search is a great idea. Jan once had a kitten disappear in the house and she tore the place apart. She even looked in the fridge. Finally, with no place left to search , she remembered the drawer under the oven. And there she was, curled up nice and warm.
Purrrrraying that Hook reappears soon. Is there evidence of him eating or pooping anywhere in the house?
Don’t forget to check drawers, like in desks and the like. A long time ago, Dad had a little kitten that figured out he could crawl under a desk, push up between the back of the desk drawers, and push into the drawer from the back.
I had my oldest girl find a way under some friends bathtub and they had to remove wall paneling to get her out. I moved and lost one of my babies only to find she had figured out how to open a drawer and was tucked back out of sight. Then there’s Jack. Jack gets INSIDE chairs from underneath them and once made it into the small towel cloest above the toilet and he’s personally dusted the top of every shelf in the place.
Never underestimate a baby who wants to hide.
Good Luck!

When my cat was much younger she sometimes got behind the drawers of my dresser. I never did know how she got back there. Good Luck on your search.
Sometimes using a flashlight can help. The idea is that you can see the cat’s eyes reflecting the light. You’ve probably already tried that, but it is about all I can suggest.
purrrrring that Hook surfaces soonest.
Can you look under the jacuzzi without having to do major remodeling? Hook might have gotten himself caught under there, or somewhere inside the floor.
Have you found Hook yet?
He is not in this house I can say that with all sincerity. I found a place in a out-of-the way cupboard where he could have found his way outside so I am concentrating my efforts there. Not being neutered could mean he is traveling right now- but I am still holding out hope he will come back home soon.
We are purring and praying for Hook’s safe return. (((HUGS)))
