Last night, I spent some anxious hours at the ER Vet clinic with Delilah. it appears that she has had a stroke. Her rear end is effected as is half of her face. They have made her comfortable and she is back home now and resting. The good news is she is eating, but in order to use the box now she needs a lot of help. Joan, if you are reading this, it took all my reserve to handle the bill so I can’t ship you your auction item until the 1st- but I will get your items to you on that day. Same goes with Jennifer, Meceda and Mary if you stop by.
I asked the vet if we should just let her go, but he said to wait a few days, let the meds take effect and see what happens. Because she has good appetite he thinks she will come out of this. Time will tell-
Hoping the best for Deliliah. Back in 2003, my big dog Jiminy had a stroke where she couldn’t walk and her eyes were spinning (there is a technical term for that). The vet also said give her a few days and she was right. Within 3 days, all that was left of her stroke was a slight head tilt.
(Unfortunately, I had to put my eldest cat, Apu, down on Friday. So unexpected. No matter how many times I’ve done this, it just never gets any easier.)
One of my cats, Tavi, had a stroke and came back from it surprisingly well. We’ll be purring for Delilah.
I had a Cornish Rex cat who had a stroke. He was old when it happened, and I thought it was the end but he bounced back from it and lived another year. I hope this is a just a minor set back for Delilah and that she’ll be ok.
